ciao Sat, Jun. 30th, 2007, 02:53 pm Crazy Course!
I was looking over some courses for next year (yes, I'm a nerd!), and this is the first description I read. http://digitalhistory.uwo.ca/h513f/I was particularly shocked by the 'computer use' and 'blogging' sections, and more than a little surprised by the bit about wikipedia! Either this course will be amazing, or HORRIBLE... Mon, Jun. 11th, 2007, 11:18 am Amazing me.

No, it was not a typical October 10th. Yet, this days celebration of the one hundred and fifth anniversary of Cuban independence suffered not from this unorthodoxy. In the spirit of Tomás Estrada Palma's historic presidency my countrymen and I supped on a delectable array of traditional Cuban cuisine, including; platanos en tentación, both cheese and guava empanadas, miniature panetela borracha, and a fresh guacamole dip. Festive Mojitos, Cristal and Salsa music complimented these delightful dishes. Thus, despite transmission problems and my disastrous attempts at making pie our wonderful hosts allowed their most grateful guests to recognize the independence of Cuba with most excellent style and company. You are The FoolThe Fool is the card of infinite possibilities. The bag on the staff indicates that he has all he need to do or be anything he wants, he has only to stop and unpack. He is on his way to a brand new beginning. But the card carries a little bark of warning as well. Stop daydreaming and fantasising and watch your step, lest you fall and end up looking the fool. What Tarot Card are You? Take the Test to Find Out.
It looks like I got into grad school here at Western for history! I'm a bit shocked, and am in a state of disbelief (partially because I thought I would not hear until the end of this month at the earliest). Ya! Woooooooo!
I just got this email :)

I have two peices in the show, come!!!! Wed, Jan. 11th, 2006, 07:24 pm Crtl t
I was using the internet at work today and was very frustrated by the lack of the Ctrl t function in EI. I was just thinking about that and went to use that function... but it did'nt work! In a panic I tried several different combinations of Ctr + ... untill I finally got back to T, and it worked again! I was really freaking out for a few seconds there, sort of like I was going insane.
No! I'm not procrastinating over the last 1/5 of this fucking essay I have to write... I'm just updating my LJ about some random thing as my standard practice dictates... okay, maybe it's just a bit of procrastination!
yargg
FYI - art show opening at the universtiy at building on jan 16 - opening time will be posted latter

Fri, Nov. 11th, 2005, 02:10 pm Count Zero
This afternoon I finished reading Count Zero by William Gibson. My main critism is directed towards those of you that have not yet read this awesome book. On a scale of one to get more of his books who do I have to beg?
Instructions:
Go to google.com, enter "Failure", hit "I'm Feeling Lucky" Thu, Nov. 10th, 2005, 11:52 am my legacy
If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, even if we don't speak often, please post a comment with a memory of you and me. It can be anything you want, either good or bad, or possibly illegal.
When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your journal to see what people remember about you.
Finally, after taking so meme after meme which have appeared on your LJ's, this is one I can get behind!

A very rare find in this fandom, you are pure evil. Not quasi-evil, evil. You're a Death Eater, you have no conscience, you kick puppies and take candy from babies. You play the typical villain to Harry's hero. Romance usually doesn't make its way in for you, except with possibly a nice murderous Slytherin girl. What a fun existence you lead. Luckily, you're most likely going to die by the end of the fanfic anyway.
Find out which Draco you are....though I still like the bear one :P In other news, my self-portrait is comming along nicely enough, hopefully I will be able to pust a picture of it soon after it is done (aka 3 months - 1/2 year) Last week I handed in a 20 page essay on Jewish Resistance During The Holocaust - fun stuff! I also gave a presentation on that topic, which I fortunatly did not try to work a game with prizes into as is my typicaly folly. I fear that this cold weather will soon bring my biking season to and end, though hopefully I'll be able to stick it out a few more weeks. To close I must say that I hate how little sunlight there is during the winter. Now off to study for my Canadian history test on thursday - school is fun! Tue, Oct. 18th, 2005, 10:24 pm Animal Quiz
Bears are strong and independent creatures who roam in the forest in search of food. Bears are usually gentle, but anger one and be prepared for their full fury! You're big, you're tough, you won't back down from a fight, you have a bit of a temper -- classic attributes of a bear. Intelligent and resourceful, though lazy at times, you are a fascinating creature of the wild. You were almost a: Pony or a KittenYou are least like a: Chipmunk or a DucklingWhat Cute Animal Are You?Sweet!
I origionaly had something witty prepared to say about this subject but at this point I'm satisfied by; 6 hours of cutting wood into smaller peices of wood= death, and I did'nt even get it all done!
Hi! Welcome to my Livejournal.
For my panting class I have to do a self portrait. The only stipulation I can think of is that it has to be at least 5x6 feet.
My current plan is to build a structure out of sliced logs. looking something like this -
ooo ooo ooo
in the back there will be wooden supports to hold it together. Though my great drawing of it may lead you to believe otherwise, the log slices will be irregular in size and arrangement. These will be left fairly rough, but gesso’d. I will then paint myself, using a combination of acrylic and water-soluble oil paints and modeling paste, in some state of exertion, most likely shoulders up face on.
This project will also combine an audio component to it as well. I plan to tape record my various bike rides around London and then play a selection of them while the piece is being "exhibited".
My goal in this project (described in typically vague artsy terms) is to create a dialogue about the relation between myself and the immediate world I live in.
I am looking for feedback! Please feel to praise / kick the nuts of this idea as you see fit. Thanks, Michael |
